One of the greatest privileges given to a human being is the privilege to ask divine help through prayer. "Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend" (SC p. 94).

"As the will of man co-operates with the will of God, it becomes omnipotent. Whatever is to be done at His command may be accomplished in His strength. All His biddings are enabling" (COL, p. 333).

We have the courage to ask our God because he says, "...call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me", Psalm 50:15.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

We encourage you to send your prayer request so that we place the matter before God.

Our Mission, Vision and Purpose

thumbnailVision

In harmony with the great prophecies of the Scriptures, we see as the climax of God’s plan the restoration of all His creation to full harmony with His perfect will and righteousness.

Mission

The mission of the Oromo Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Minnesota is to proclaim to all peoples, including the Oromos in the Twin Cities and its metropolitan areas, the everlasting gospel in the context of the three angel’s messages of Revelation 14:6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as personal Savior and to unite with His church, and nurturing them in preparation for His soon return.

Purpose

The overall purpose of the Oromo Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Minnesota is to worship God for His Creative work and for all the benefits of His salvation; to understand His word, His teachings, and His purposes; to fellowship with one another in the faith and love; to witness one’s personal faith in Christ’s atoning sacrifice at the cross; and to learn how to fulfill the gospel commission of making disciples in all world (Matt. 28:19,20).

More specific objectives of the Oromo Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Minnesota are to:

  1. Meet the need of the Oromo Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Minnesota members who have language barrier to attend the local Seventh-Day Adventist churches.
  2. Proclaim the three angels message (Revelation 14:6-12) in Oromo language to the Oromo Community in the Twin Cities and beyond.
  3. Witness the unconditional Love of God to the Oromos in the Twin Cities through outreach ministry designed to uplift and enhance the spiritual, educational, economical, and social standard. These services will be carried out in a manner that the fundamental principles and values of the church are not compromised.
  4. Actively encourage and support expansion of the gospel work in Oromia, Ethiopia.
