One of the greatest privileges given to a human being is the privilege to ask divine help through prayer. "Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend" (SC p. 94).

"As the will of man co-operates with the will of God, it becomes omnipotent. Whatever is to be done at His command may be accomplished in His strength. All His biddings are enabling" (COL, p. 333).

We have the courage to ask our God because he says, "...call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me", Psalm 50:15.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

We encourage you to send your prayer request so that we place the matter before God.

Health Ministries

The Oromo Seventh-day Adventist Church believes that there is a direct relation between physical health and spiritual health. The health of and individual and a community are very important. The cost of health is significant part of the budget an individual, family, or the nation at large. Some of the causes of disease could be prevented by making wise choice about diet, abstaining from smoking, substance abuse, alcohol and others habits that harm our body. A healthy life style that makes trust in God the center of all Endeavour, rest, physical exercise, and temperance is the basic message of the department of health.

The objective of the department of Health Ministry of the Oromo Seventh-day Adventist Church is to promote healthy life style among the church members and the community members. The Bible reminds us that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we have been entrusted with the privilege of maintaining and improving our spiritual, mental, social and physical health. The department of Health Ministry promotes good health and the prevention of ill health to help achieve this goal of wholeness.
